It is exciting to meet three generations of winemakers during a visit to a family-run winery. Even more so if the reins are now in the hands of Vittorio, 22 years old, heir to a tradition that has reached its fifth generation, who tells: "The cantina was founded in 1960 by Federico Maldini and Evando Illeri, my great-great-grandfather and great-grandfather respectively. Since then, our philosophy has been to keep alive the friendly and long-lasting relationship established with our customers, who are always willing to have a sip and to enjoy a chat. We constantly choose to enhance our splendid territory, making friends and customers appreciate our wine range."

The Colli Bolognesi, in addition to the fantastic panorama, have provided medium-textured soils, mainly clayey, which allow the production of fresh wines from the company's 12 hectares of vineyards, for an annual production of around 750 Hl.

Sustainable viticulture practices are used, with machinery that allows for the processing of the under-row and modern atomizers that automatically dose the water release.

The new generation of winemakers, represented by Vittorio, has introduced traditional method sparkling wines into the production of the family winery, with already very promising results.

Vittorio is now also committed to the renewal of the image of the company: the new labels, with a fresher and younger design, are about to arrive.

Vittorio and his father Ugo let us taste some of their wine range:

  • Il Zero 2022 Metodo Classico: 100% Pignoletto, 24 months of ageing on lees. Fresh and mineral, with a beautiful structure that makes it the perfect companion for tortellini.

  • Pignoletto frizzante DOC: 100% Pignoletto. Enjoyable and straightforward, traditional, the perfect pairing for an aperitivo with tigelle and mortadella.

  • Evando Barbera dell'Emilia frizzante IGT: 100% Barbera. Fuity and acidic, gastronomic, the perfect match for a barbecue with good friends.

The cellar door is always open to visitors and purchasers. For more info:
